SERVICE HISTORY AND CONSTRUCTION:
Rebuilt in 1985/86
Major refit 1998
Ketch of steel composite construction
All teak superstructure & planking
Backbone of English oak
Originally constructed to Lloyds 100A1
In 1985/86 this yacht was totally stripped down to bare frames and rebuilt from the keel up. Wiring, plumbing, accommodation, tanks, etc., were all new. In 1998 a further major refit was carried out, renewing the ship's decks down to the beams -1 inch. Marine ply with 1 inch solid teak on top. A new deck saloon and wheel box, designed more in keeping with the vessel's period, were fitted. Additional framing and stringer's were added to beef up the boat, adding more strength to the hull. New windlass, chains, winches and steering gear together with various navigation aids, replaced the old. Stainless steel water tanks were renewed and a black water tank added.
This Camper & Nicholson Classic continues to be updated and maintained to the highest standard. Very sound, very strong and well built. Very fast sailing.
